Requirements -

1. BSNL Dataone Connection (or connection from any other service provider which gives dynamic ip)
2. Netgear DG834G (You can try it with any other router/modem supporting this function)

In case you dont want to wait for "n" minutes to be able to download a file from Rapidshare and you dont want to wait for a long time till your modem restarts, here is a trick for you.

Open your browser and -

1. Go to 192.168.0.1
2. Enter your ID and password
3. Go to Connection Status
4. Click on Disconnect

Wait till your connection to internet is disconnected.

Now Click on Connect. In no time you will have a new ip address.

Your IP Address will be renewed and you can now download from rapidshare without having to wait for more than 1-2 minutes.

There are tools like HideIP Platinum and others to beat rapidshare but they are either not free or your download speed suffers with them.

Here is the procedure -

BatteryStatus is a freeware today-plugin.



Original cpuspeed: Here you must enter the original cpuspeed. If you dont know it, you can use the Get-Button. By the way, the cpu of XDA Neo runs originally on 195 MHz.

Overclock to Speed: With this combobox you can set the cpuspeed to which the plugin shall overclock the cpu. 260 MHz has turned out to be the highest clockspeed for a stable operating of XDA Neo.

Overclock on wakeup: This option let BatteryStatus overclock the cpu on wakeup/resume of the device. The latter implies, that the cpuspeed falls back to the original cpuspeed if the device switches in one of the sleep modes. This is controlled by the operating system itself !

Remember last CpuSpeed: If this option is checked, then the cpuspeed before going to suspend will be restored after wakeup.

Overclock after Reboot: If you want your device to be overclocked after a softreset, then you must check this option. Be careful with this option. I would not do that, so its your choice and you have to know what you do.

TestDisk is a powerful free data recovery utility. TestDisk was primarily designed to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again when these symptoms are caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses or human error (such as accidentally erasing your Partition Table).

TestDisk is a free and useful program which queries the BIOS ( DOS/Win9x) or the OS ( Linux, FreeBSD) in order to find the Hard Disks and their characteristics ( LBA size and CHS geometry). TestDisk does a quick check of your disk´s structure and compares it with your Partition Table for entry errors. If the Partition Table has entry errors, TestDisk can repair them. If you have missing partitions or a completely empty Partition Table, TestDisk can search for partitions and create a new Table or even a new MBR if necessary.

However, it´s up to the user to look over the list of possible partitions found by TestDisk and to select the one(s) which were being used just before the drive failed to boot or the partition(s) were lost. In some cases, especially after initiating a detailed search for lost partitions, TestDisk may show partition data which is simply from the remnants of a partition that had been deleted and overwritten long ago.

TestDisk has features for both novices and experts. For those who know little or nothing about data recovery techniques, the command line parameters /log and /debug can be used to collect detailed information about a non-booting drive which can then be sent to a tech for further analysis. Those more familiar with such procedures should find TestDisk a handy tool in performing onsite recovery.

Definitions -

Sec. 58 of the Transfer of Property Act, 1882 defines mortgage as -

A mortgage is the transfer of an interest in specific immoveable property for the purpose of securing the payment of money advanced or to be advanced by way of loan, an existing or future debt, or the performance of an engagement which may give rise to a pecuniary liability.

The transferor is called a mortgagor, the transferee a mortgagee; the principal money and interest of which payment is secured for the time being are called the mortgage-money, and the instrument (if any) by which the transfer is effected is called a mortgage-deed.

Types of Mortgages -

1. Simple Mortgage
2. Mortgage by Conditional Sale
3. Usufructuary Mortgage
4. English Mortgage
5. Mortgage by deposit of title of deeds
6. Anomalous mortgage

1. Simple Mortgage -

In a Simple mortgage, the possession of the mortgaged property is not transferred from mortgagor to the mortgagee.

If the mortgagor fails to repay the loan, the mortgagee has the right to sell the property and recover the loan from the sale amount.

2. Mortgage by Conditional Sale -

Under such Mortgage, the mortgagor apparently sells the property to the mortgagee on certain conditions -

1.On failure to repay the mortgage money before a certain date the sale shall become absolute,or
2.On condition that on such repayment of mortgage money the sale shall become invalid,or
3.On condition that on such repayment the mortgagee shall retransfer the property.

In such case, the mortgagee is a "mortgagee by conditional sale".

3. Usufructuary Mortgage -

In a usufructuary Mortgage, the possession of the mortgaged property is transferred to the mortgagee. The mortgagee receives the income from the property (rent, profit, interest, etc) until the repayment of the loan. The title deeds remain with the owner.

4. English Mortgage -

In an English Mortgage -

1.The mortgagor binds himself to repay the borrowed money on a certain date.
2.The mortgagor transfers the property absolutely to the mortgagee.
3.But such transfer is subject to the condition that the mortgagee will retransfer the property on repayment before the agreed date.

5. Mortgage by deposit of title of deeds -
In such mortgage, the mortgagor delivers the title document of the property to the mortgagee with an intention to create a security thereon. Such mortgage is valid in towns of Kolkatta, Mumbai and any other town as the State Government may notify by publication in Official Gazatte

6. Anomalous mortgage -

Anomalous mortgage is a combination of different types of mortgages.


In the US, concept of Reverse Mortgage is fast catching up -

Meaning - A reverse mortgage loan is a loan where the lender pays the monthly installments to you instead of you making any payments to the lender. Hence the name reverse mortgage, as the payment stream is reversed. A Reverse mortgage enables senior citizens to convert their home equity into tax-free income. Reverse mortgages enable eligible homeowners to access the money they have built up as equity in their homes. They are primarily designed to strengthen seniors’ personal and financial independence by providing funds without a monthly payment burden during their lifetime in their home.

So you are in this situation: you have a Windows Mobile based device with good specifications and all of the programs you have installed. It should be working perfectly and meet all your needs, but instead of it is running creepy slow. That is because of the persistence of applications and programs running in the background. As a result, the shutting down of unnecessary applications in the background via settings or a third party application becomes a necessary task to running a problem-free Pocket PC.

The reason for it is because Windows Mobile platform uses a feature called Smart Minimize, which actually leaves the program running in the background after you click on the X in the upper right hand corner.

One of the largest programs that consumes memory is ActiveSync, which runs in the background once you synch your Pocket PC with your computer. There are several ways you can shut down this application. The most common way is to go to Start -> Settings -> System - > Memory and selecting the grey Running Programs tab. This will open up a majority of applications running on your Pocket PC.

If you wish have more copmplete task manager and see all the processes and threads that are running in the background, there are third party utilities for this purpose. You can consider an applications like Free Task Manager, tMan, pBar, PHM Task Manager or other paid ones which you can find at MobileTopSoft's Pocket PC software archive.

As you can see from the screenshot above there is Phone running 3 times along with the Activesync. They are taking memory that can be used for other purposes. This program is quite old but it is good because it is free and locates everything you can do in the Windows version, including: display the running applications, allowing you to activate, hibernate, stop and terminate them as well as display the running processes with their IDs, number of threads, CPU time, priority and complete path, and allow you to terminate them. You can also suspend, soft reset, and hard reset your Pocket PC if needed.

You can also try other applications for optimizing your Pocket PC's memory like MemMaid and Pocket Mechanic Pro.

Remember that by removing large applications from memory when not in use, you will provide yourself with more space for necessary applications and can potentially improve overall performance.

- Click on Subscribe a RemoteCalenders button to add Google Calendar to Outlook.

- In Google Calendar, copy iCal URL to get your Calendar's Private Address on the Calendar Settings page - click on Manage Calendars on the left and in the Calendar tab, click on the Calendar name that you want to work on.

- Near the bottom of the page, get the Private Address of this calendar in XML, iCal as well as HTML formatsm select iCal and copy that URL.

- In RemoteCalenders, paste the iCal URL under "RemoteCalenders URL", add the Calendar name and check "It's my Google Calendar and I want to sync both ways".

Profession Tax Amnesty Scheme Working

Profession Tax Amnesty Scheme Working -
Valid from 01.09.2007 to 31.10.2007

Under the Profession Tax Amnesty Scheme - for Registered persons

In case you have registered yourself and have a Enrollment Number, working would be as under:

1. Basic Tax + Interest (@2% p.m)* + Penalty (Rs.300/year)

* The rate of interest is taken as 2% for ease of computation. Earlier it was 1.25%.

Now take entire Basic Tax Amount + 10% x (Interest + Penalty)

E.g: You have not paid profession tax for the 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2007-2008.

So calculation would be -

YEAR = BASIC TAX + INTEREST + PENALTY
1. 2005-2006 = 1700 + 1020 + 300
2. 2006-2007 = 2500 + 720 + 300


Interest for 2005-2006 is calculated @ 2 % p.m for 30 months, 2006-2007 for 18 months & so on.

So total payment would be Rs.4200 + 174 + 60 = Rs.4434/-

In case of unregistered person, P.T would be waived upto 2002. Thereafter Basic Tax and Interest working would be the same as registered person. But penalty would be Rs.2/day (comes to Rs.730 per year) instead of flat Rs.300 p.a.

The working has to be submitted in Annexure 1 to the Profession Tax Department along with self attested photocopy of the challan through which payment has been made in the bank.

Remove Vista entry from Boot Menu

If you have installed Windows XP and then Vista on your system and after playing around with Vista, you have decided that you want to uninstall Vista. Now after removing Vista from your system, you might still see the option of Vista in Boot Menu. To fix this, follow the steps given below -

# Boot your computer in to Windows XP.

# Ensure you have the Vista DVD image emulated or in the DVD drive.

# Go to “Start” and “Run”. Type in “e:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt52 ALL /force” (without quotes, and replacing e: with the drive letter of your Vista DVD).

# Restart the computer, and you will notice the boot selection menu is gone.

# Format the partition/drive where you had Vista installed.

# Remove two files (Boot.BAK & Bootsect.BAK) on your XP drive’s root folder (C:), these were backup files of your previous bootloader, now no longer useful.

# Optional: Restart to ensure it still works

You will need to fill up a form which is available free of cost at the Government Press of your city. (In Pune, it is located near Sadhu Vaswani Chowk - Behind Government Photozinco Press)

You need to fill in the details as required - like your old name, new name, old signature, new signature and address.

No documents are required to be submitted along with the form.

Charges:

Charges for change of name in the Maharashtra Government Gazette:

• Rs 120 per insertion (for two copies of the Gazette)
• For backward class applicants: Rs 60
• Charges for extra copy of the Gazette: Rs 12 per copy

Cash is accepted at the Government Press though you have option of paying through Cheque/DD.

Backward class applicants are required to submit a Xerox copy of caste certificate of old name as issued by the Collector of the District concerned.

Once the form is duly submitted, it normally takes a month for publication of advertisement in the Maharashtra Government Gazette. The Gazette copy is sent to the address given on the form.

Download XP_FixLogon.ZIP and save this file to your hard drive. Navigate to where you saved it and double click the file. Extract XP_FixLogon.exe from the zip file and double click it. The program will tell you if repairs are needed or not.

This utility checks for the correct GINA value in the Registry and will allow you to restore it, if its incorrect.

QMAIL v3.0.0




QMAIL is a communications program which deserves to be more well known: it supports POP3, IMAP4, NNTP & RSS protocols.
Installation simply involves copying the files to the Pocket PC. The mail client pleasantly surprised me: besides IMAP4 support, it supports SSL/TLS authenication (which makes it compatible with GMail, but this requires a seperate download), filters and all the configuration options that you could imagine. HTML support is still not working for the Pocket PC. Neither is the ability to compose scripts. To read a RSS feed, you only need to create an account and choose RSS in the "Class" menu. When you return to the main screen you choose the account that you just created, tap and hold to bring up "Create" and voila, after entering the name of the feed, you only have to give the URL. The interface is not bad: you click on the title to see the contents, providing quick access. It should be said here that the author's website would help you much since it is all in Japanese and there is no configuration guidelines. An app that appears to be well-features (maybe too much) and so we should spend some time trying it out. Read this tutorial if you are interested in this feeware. For users with other OS version (eg.
